PUBLIC SPEAKING

for Elementary and Middle School Children.

Xilin Northwest Chinese School

Kids are loaded with energy and enthusiasm. They want to find their way through the world and they want to feel significant. Just like us, they are surrounded by reasons to be ANGRY, SAD, and SCARED. They need guidance to find HAPPINESS and to make it a priority. I believe that the way to do that is to give them a voice, give them a stage to speak on, and surround them with people interested in listening to them. Let's show them that their thoughts are worth sharing.

Hi, I’m Marty Jalove with Master Happiness

I want to help your kids develop self-confidence and so much more.

I want them to become great speakers, incredible listeners, and powerful motivators.

I am so proud to say that over 200 kids have taken my courses on the Power of Presentation, Stories with a Point, Communicating your Thoughts, and Persuasion and Debate.

I am talking about kids from 7 to 17 years old. These are amazing kids that have the power to influence and change the world. I am so proud to have helped them build the courage, that they were looking for, to express their thoughts and feelings.

Classroom.png

Kids are naturally passionate about so many things but sometimes they think that no one cares about what they have to say. I give them the tools, the platform, and the encouragement that they need to develop that courage and to articulate their thoughts.

My philosophy is “Learning while Laughing.” In these classes, we play a lot of fun, but meaningful improv games. These games teach them to think on their feet, cooperate with others, and reenforce the lessons of the day.

TicTacTale.png

They learn how to research and establish credibility.

They learn how to tell emotional and though provoking stories.

And on the topics that are important to them, they learn how to create strong calls to action.

The kids learn about respect, empathy, generosity, humility, humor and so much more.

Whether in-person or on Zoom, these kids interact with each other and they learn to work independently as well as in teams.

I am so proud of all of the kids that have taken my courses and I hope that I get a chance to work with your kids too.

“Thank you, Marty Jalove, for hosting those fun and educational lessons for our kids, they learned so much and the knowledge and experience will help them continue to grow into better people. My son had a lot of fun and learned a lot.”

Thank you for being a great mentor and friend."

-Nathan, Kellie, Olivia, and the all of the YLP students

"Thank you for teaching me the importance of speech and how it affects many parts of daily life, such as when arguing with your parents or when you are a mute detective and can only express your ideas using hand gestures. I’m thankful that I have something meaningful to do every week, and if I can’t think of a reason to be happy, at least there’s that speech class every Sunday, Thank you Marty."

-Kevin

"Marty's Motivators"

through Master Happiness

KidsWorksheets.png

Marty's Motivator's is a term used to describe the kids that take these classes. In these sessions, the kids learn more than just self-confidence and public speaking skills. They learn to become responsible members of a community. They learn how to communicate their thoughts and feelings. They learn how to pay respect by being better listeners. And they learn to motivate others to be the best that they can be.

All classes and presentations are customized to better meet the specific needs of the students. The kids learn to create and share fascinating stories. We play a lot of purposeful games to get them thinking. Prepare to be engaged by interesting stories, voluntary role-playing, worksheets, and a lot of fun. Classes evolve around the ability and participation of the kids with an emphasis on laughing while learning.

The commitment they make will last them a lifetime!

Communicating

I will strive to improve my communication skills through my actions and my words. I understand that no matter how good a communicator I become, I can always be better. I understand that people see my actions more than they hear my thought. It is through my actions and my words that people will define and judge me. I will not only strive to be a better communicator, I will strive to be a better example.

Listening

I will respect the speaker by giving them my full attention. I will not talk or distract others or let myself get distracted while someone is speaking to me. I will give the speaker all of the respect and courtesy that they deserve. My purpose as a listener is to hear and learn from what someone else has to say. Being a great listener is not only polite and shows a great deal of maturity, it also is an incredible way for me to grow.

Sharing

I will share what I have learned. I am a member of a class, communities, and the world. I am becoming a great communicator. These talents are not to be used to manipulate or hurt others. Instead, I will go out of my way to use my communication skills to help other grow along with me.

The Power of Presentation

Class 100

The “Power of Presentation” is written and designed to help children and young adults prepare for the future. It is broken down into 8 crucial steps that each student should learn in this specific order. Each step takes what was taught in the previous lesson and builds upon and expands that experience. By the end of this course, the students that have applied themselves will be prepared to be better participants in school, family life, and business. The Master Happiness methodology is all about “Learning while Laughing.” Students will have fun but will be expected to actively participate in order to get the absolute most out of these sessions. Lessons are a combination of lecture, impromptu presentations, games, and weekly assignments.

Stories with a Point!

Class 210

Great stories are memorable because they make an emotional imprint on our brains. Correctly tying an emotional story to your message can sway and leave a long-lasting memory upon your audience. This is the reason that storytelling is one of the most important skills for a young student to learn. But a story without an important message, while entertaining, can be a waste of its full potential.

This class teaches MORE than just “Storytelling.”

Students will learn to create stories that illustrate points and drive an audience into understanding ideas or concepts. They will learn to paint memories with the 5 senses and to develop settings and characters that their listeners can identify with and be drawn to follow. By the end of this class, the students that have applied themselves will be better prepared to be successful communicators in school, family life, and future endeavors. The Master Happiness methodology is all about “Learning while Laughing.” Students will have fun but will be expected to actively participate in order to get the absolute most out of these sessions. Lessons are a combination of lecture, impromptu presentations, games, and some homework.

Debate without Hate!

They will learn to master the art of emotional storytelling and how it connects to motivating others to contemplate change. They are about to learn the secrets of applied logic to encourage, coax, and convince others down a different path of thinking. They are ready to persuade and debate. The Master Happiness methodology is all about “Learning while Laughing.” Students will have fun but will be expected to actively participate in order to get the absolute most out of these sessions. Lessons are a combination of lecture, impromptu presentations, games, and some homework that includes research and writing.
