The Love Languages of BACON!
How do your customers know that you care about them?
How does your team know?
Do you tell them in person, on the phone, or maybe not at all?
Sometimes, as we charge forward, we forget to tell people how much they mean to us and how their actions contribute to our success. A simple, “Thank You” can go a long way.
But if you really want to be sincere in your “thanks” and make it as meaningful as possible, I suggest taking a close look at the “5 Languages of Love” by Gary Chapman. Although this book was written about couples in a romantic relationship, I have found that the same ideas can be used when connecting with customers, my students, and members of my teams.
We all want to feel important and appreciated. We hear and feel that appreciation in different ways. Some just want to hear the words, others need a pat on the back. Some respond to a gift card for coffee, an unexpected gesture, and others are looking for a receptive ear. A gift card to one person may seem impersonal but a simple, “Do you have any ideas?” may be more than they ever expected.
Solidify those relationships by finding the right way to tell your individual customers and team members that you care.
And if you’re looking for a way to say that you appreciate me, you can always do it with bacon.
