Your Evolution Statement: How to Achieve Your Vision Statement

Every successful business has a mission and vision statement, defining what they do and where they want to go. But oftentimes, companies leave out one crucial aspect: the evolution statement. An evolution statement is the roadmap to achieving your vision statement. It outlines what your company plans to do in order to progress towards its ultimate goals. Without an evolution statement, employees and stakeholders are left in the dark about how to achieve the company vision. Let’s go over how to create an evolution statement that will help your company reach its full potential.

Define the Goals of Your Vision Statement

Step 1: Define the Goals of Your Vision Statement.

The first step in creating an evolution statement is to define the goals of your company's vision statement. Ask yourself and your team members questions such as: "What do we want to achieve?" "What are our values?" "What is our competitive advantage?" You need to have a clear idea of where you want to go before you can determine how to get there.

Identify Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Step 2: Identify Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Once you have defined your vision statement goals, determine the KPIs that you will use to measure progress. These will help you gauge whether your company is moving towards or away from its objectives. For example, if your goal is to increase market share, a KPI could be the number of products sold or customer retention rate. The KPIs should align with your vision statement and be specific, measurable, and time bound.

Create a Plan of Action

Step 3: Create a Plan of Action.

With KPIs in place, you can now create a plan of action to achieve your vision. This should be broken down into short-term, mid-term, and long-term goals. The plan should also include specific actions that need to be taken, such as developing new products, expanding into new markets, or hiring additional staff. It's important that the plan is realistic, achievable, and aligned with your company's resources.

Now write one sentence that summarizes HOW you plan on realizing your dreams. A short mantra, based on your values, that will guide you through your journey. Your Mission is WHAT you do, your Vision is WHERE you want to go, and your Evolution is HOW you will get there.

Just like your Mission and Vision Statement, your Evolution Statement should be short and to the point. One sentence about HOW you plan to make your vision a reality.

Communicate the Plan to Your Team

Step 4: Communicate the Plan to Your Team.

Your employees are a crucial aspect of achieving your vision. They need to understand the plan to make it happen. Communicate the evolution statement and plan of action to all employees, making sure to explain why it's important and how it aligns with the company's vision statement. Encourage employee feedback and involvement in achieving the goals.

Monitor Progress and Adjust as Needed

Step 5: Monitor Progress and Adjust as Needed.

Implement the plan and monitor progress regularly. Use the KPIs to determine whether the plan is working and adjust as needed. Make changes to the plan to ensure that it remains aligned with your vision statement and company objectives.

Creating an evolution statement and plan is a crucial part of achieving your company's vision statement. By defining your goals, identifying KPIs, creating a plan of action, and communicating the plan to your team, you can achieve your company's full potential. With regular monitoring and adjustments, you can ensure that your evolution statement remains relevant and aligned with your vision statement. Remember, achieving a vision statement is a continuous process. By creating an evolution statement, you provide your company with a roadmap to achieving its goals.

I look forward to reading your Evolution Statement to better understand HOW you plan to achieve Your Vision.
