Why try? I'm going to fail at it anyway. I can't do it! I'm not as good as everyone else.

We all second guess ourselves occasionally. But doubting our abilities too often can and will hold us back from realizing our dreams. Some people put more energy into knocking themselves down than just trying. This could be caused by narcissistic parents and bosses. It could be caused by constantly comparing ourselves to others. And it can be fueled by past failures.

Self-doubt can make us question if we are qualified, good enough, or even able to succeed in relationships, work, as a parent, or just about any activity that we would like to pursue. Those with low self-esteem often seek reassurance but can’t accept or believe compliments. This can lead to serious anxiety and depression

There is a comfort in allowing ourselves to doubt our own abilities. Afterall, if we don’t try, we can’t fail. We need to learn to overcome that fear and accept failure as a vital part of growing.

So how can we turn self-doubt around?

B – Be kind to yourself

A – Avoid Negative People

C – Contemplate Past Successes

O – Outsmart yourself

N – No More Comparing

Realize that you may not be able to do everything…

BUT YOU CAN DO A LOT!
