Some tell us to work for money and save for the future. Some tell us to do the work we love, and money will follow. I’ve seen too many people work themselves to death and others who lose direction after they retire.
How do we balance life and career? Can we, should we, and how do we separate and build strong business and social relationships?
We spend so many hours each week at our jobs and so many years of our lives in our careers. We give away so much of our time; are we trading it for wealth, happiness, both, or neither?
Throughout my life I have done great things. I have been part of incredible teams. And I have also spent years at jobs doing things not worth remembering. Each position I held and every task that I accomplished has given me a chance to learn and grow. Sometimes I grew and sometimes I missed the opportunity.
Looking back, I wish I would have done some things differently, but largely, I have loved the decisions I’ve made and the direction my life has taken me.
Here are a few of the lessons I have learned about work, money, time, and happiness.
B – Begin with Bacon
A – Aim for Purpose
C – Change is scary
O – Own your future
N – Never stop growing
Time is limited, money is spent, but Happiness can be endless. Listen in to hear what I mean.
